Hello again my fishing buddies!
it has been a while since my last fishing report, with all the holydays and such...but i am back!
I went out just outside the marietas islands this week and had one good day of fishing.
Due to the cold water temperatures that have hit us for the past month, the type of fish that we are landing has changed. we are now in redsnapper´s heaven and also a lot of african pampano.
on this tour i used a lot of live bait and landed redsnapper one right after another using: (big eye) live bait.
they were around 10lb to 20lb snappers! I also landed a couple of roosterfish in the 35lb range and some african pampano. enjoy the pictures!
well... until next time:

Hola from Puerto Vallarta!
This week´s fishing trip took me out to the north side of the bay for an 8 hrs charter. We went to Sayulita and San Pancho area approx: 25 miles form the marina. we trolled at about 6.5 notts and had little luck for a couple of hours as We were looking for Mahi-mahi but then captain Cesar from the "Gaviota" spoted a sailfish sunning on top of the water! We procedded to cast a big eye live bait infront of him and hooked him.he put up a great fight! total fight time: 27min.
as the day progressed We landed two Mahi-mahi and hit the shallower waters and caught two red snappers but then landed a 40 lb roosterfish using live bait which was one great task to get him in.
So...We had another succesful trip! thanks to captain Cesar and his crew.

and tasty cocktails to compliment. When the stars come out we sail toward

beaches and lush tropical forests. Follow the path less traveled up the
Tenacatita River for a jungle river boat trip and wildlife-watching. We will
then spend a day at Playa Careyes where egrets, herons and cormorants
are all visible from the tops of sand dunes.
We end the trip with a stay at the small beach town of Barra de Navidad,
home to Mexico’s most luxurious resort destination The Grand Bay Hotel.

Puerto Vallarta incident
Hola Amigos! Regarding about the incident that took place here in Puerto Vallarta last Wednesday, I have to say that is terrible but is well know by everybody that the drug lords are affecting our peaceful lives by doing this kind of acts, Puerto Vallarta is still a safe, clean, friendly, gorgeous city and beach destination to visit and live. Incidents like this one occurs not only in Mexico but also in the U.S.A, Canada,France,Germany,Spain,Argentina,Ecuador,Colombia and in many other Countries around the world, media is punishing us again with alarmist headers with the main purpose of keeping vacationers in their own Country. The place where the incident happened is located in Francisco Villa street,( behind Costco) and it was called “las pink-cheladas” this was a small business outside the touristic part of Puerto Vallarta where anybody could go in without the proper inspection or security check (making this place a perfect spot for drug dealers). Not in the main avenue, not in the boardwalk or Malecon, not in the old town, not in downtown, not the marina or the hotel zone. Thanks for your concern and let´s live a life full with joy and faith for a brighter future.Your Mexican Amigo: Juan Carlos

Fishing report. By Jonathan Peinado.
Good morning to all my fishing buddy’s
This week has been a new beginning for dorado (mahi-mahi) in Puerto Vallarta, the heavy rains have filled the natural rivers to their capacity, and the river flow into the ocean has attracted the dorado to the bay, I went out for a short 6 hour fishing trip this Sunday around the river divide just inside the bay ,fishing around the tree stumps and palms that flowed out from the rivers to the ocean, these areas are a favorite feeding grounds for big dorado and other ocean fish such as Toro and smaller game fish, my partner Juan Carlos and I landed 4 Dorado in the 15 to 30 lb range and landed a few (bonitas).so it was a fun and successful fishing trip, cant wait for my next trip out. so until next time

If you want to do a little shopping on the beach, the friendly vendors of "Los Muertos" sell everything from handmade souvenirs to fresh-cooked seafood.
Much like "Los Muertos", there are plenty of vendors offering fresh cooked specialties on the boardwalk. However, you should definitely try some of the great food offered at the Malecon’s restaurants. Serving everything from adventurous European cuisine to traditional Mexican fare, the restaurants of the Malecon cater to everyone’s tastes. Many restaurants and cafes also offer patio seating on the boardwalk. Tourists and locals agree that a patio seat on the boardwalk might be the best way to enjoy a majestic sunset over Banderas Bay.
At the Boardwalk, you will find all kind of attractions and shows specially on a Sunday night where families get together to enjoy the clowns and magicians that perform at "los Arcos" or dance "cumbia, salsa, mambo and all kind of popular music at the main square. don´t miss the "Papantla flyers" or the sand sculptures. if you are in the "shopping" mood, the boardwalk has a lot to offer! Jewelry, cigars, leather, tequila, clothing, sun glasses and a lot of great restaurants!
walking at the Malecon is so relaxing! continue your walk towards "los muertos" beach and you will find a bridge that conects the downtown with the old town, and in the middle the bridge,a stairway that leads to "the Cuale Island" a beautiful island in the middle of a river with a big open market on it,surrounded by vegetation and a gorgeous scenery. so come and visit Puerto Vallarta!!! http://www.cssfishing.com/

Nuevo Vallarta
Hola! today we will review Nuevo Vallarta.
Nuevo Vallarta is located at the north side of the bay and is home of the most Luxurious Resorts, most of them "all inclusive resorts" Therefore, guests really have no need to leave the premises. With almost 6 kilometers of white sand beaches,Nuevo Vallarta is a great place to relax and enjoy away from the crowds.Nuevo Vallarta is the first in a line of "suburbs" of that makes up Mexico's new Riviera Nayarit. Also included in the Riviera Nayarit are the beach towns of Bucerias, Punta Mita, & Sayulita to name a few.

Fishing Report 7/07/2010
By: Jonathan Peinado
Hola to all my fishing buddies from beautiful Puerto Vallarta. Fishing here is changing for the better, the water temperature has been on average 82 to 85 degrees which is perfect for big game fishing .I went out on July 4th early morning about 5:30am on a 12 hour charter for some big game fishing for tuna, blue and black marlin my day started a little slow but after a couple of hours we got our first bite on a 150 lb tuna and ended up landing 5 big tunas in the 150 to 200lb range, our average fight time was 45 to 55 minutes using Penn international and medium test line, on our way back we fished around the 8 hour charter area outside the north side of Bandera’s bay and landed a small marlin about 200 lbs, so this fishing trip left everyone of us with smiles. So come join us at Charly’s and get ready for some good fishing. Until next time your fishing buddy: Jonathan.

Pitillal Town
Hola, it is Saturday and today let´s Talk about Pitillal town.
Pitillal town is located 20 min away from downtown,20 min away from the airport 15 min away from Marina Vallarta, and 10 min behind Wal-mart (check our map) Pitillal town is a beautiful and "Mexican style" town where you can shop for anything you need! street vendors are all the way around it´s main plaza. this is not a tourist place,so forget about timeshare people, tourism office or special deals but it is very frienly and safe. My Favorite day to visit Pitillal town is Sunday. families walking around the main plaza shopping for fruits, vegetables, shoes or clothing is what you expext to see,as well as the big Catholic community attending to Sunday Mass at the main Pitillal´s Church. if You like Mexican food, you will love Pitillal town. you will find all kind of "Antojitos Mexicanos" like: sopes, tacos, tortas, quesadillas, pozole, birria, carnitas, enchiladas, mole, and much more!! an interesting place that i recommend to visit is "Hacienda el Tapatio" a Mexican Hacienda where you will enjoy a Tequila tour and learn how to make Tequila, you might be able to make your own! you will start with a delicious margarita made with tequila 100% Agave Azul also; you will enjoy some Mexican Folk Dances and traditional Mexican lunch. here at "Charly´s sailing and sportfishing" we only have the best for less!! visit: http://www.cssfishing.com/

Fishing report
Welcome to our new, biweekly updated "Puerto Vallarta Fishing Report"
By Jonathan Peinado.
Well our rainy season has arrived, that means hotter weather and warmer waters which ads up to big tuna and blue and black marlin.as the water temprature has risen, tuna has been a more common site and we have started landing blue marlin here and there.although the tuna is still a 12 hour charter,i have seen some boats comming in with tuna in the 10 hour charters but i still recommend a 12 hour tour for tuna.the tuna we have been landing has not been the monster tuna we are used to here in Vallarta,we have been landing tuna in the 80lb to the 150 lb range, but i expect that to change soon in the comming weeks as we heat up.fishing has been great in the smaller game,we have had one of our best years for roosterfish and the party continues,we are hooking up with roosterfish about 30 to 50 lb roosters that are putting up a fight on average with 20 lb test line 15 to 20 minutes, also a lot of red snapper, and jack caravelle in the 25 lb range.so come and join us here in Puerto Vallarta and get ready to have an exciting day fishing with us. www.cssfishing.com
